Children's Programme

We have a Children's Programme Coordinator, Louise Baumberg who works with parent volunteer Paula Nottingham to deliver a fun and meaningful programme suitable for all ages. Pauline and Patience Nottingham also work as junior assistants at every children's session to look after the younger children and help with the activities
Children's activities
children's activities

Every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month there are children's activities in the hall. Parents of young children may wish to accompany their children or can attend the main service in the chapel once they are settled. The children attend the first 15 minutes of the chapel service which usually includes a story.

Activities are designed to be fun and with some reflective component concerned with themes such as the seasons, helping others, expressing emotions, music, drama etc.

After the chapel service, the congregation meets in the hall to see what the children have been doing and for coffee and refreshments.

Family services
inter-generational service

Every two months on the 4th Sunday there is also a "family service". This service is aimed at both children and adults (a fine balancing act but so far very successful). After this service there is normally a shared "pot luck" lunch.

Youth group
youth group

The youth programme is very informal but the emphasis is on fun and fundraising as they sponsor a child in Africa.

Other activities

Children from the age of 7 upwards have the opportunity to take part in wider Unitarian Children and Youth events such as Blah (based in the South East), London Calling (for teens) and Junior, Inter and Senior Weekends at Great Hucklow in Derbyshire.
